Michael Cluff- A Poem

Untitled

Sending the soul away
Roy was not at peace
split from the outside buffetings
he fell into a stock response
it is better to stop suffering
before it gets too big
for society to handle.

He visited Dresden in the summer
and was not impressed by the statues and monuments there
a bagel was verboten
and deer was too choice for him
and his two approving friends
from  Mannheim and Queensland
and a trench with carrion bones
kept reminding him of Lent.
